About Jean Rondeau

French harpsichordist Jean Rondeau trained at the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied harpsichord with Olivier Baumont, Blandine Rannou, and Kenneth Weiss, and at the Guildhall School of Music in London, where he studied with Christophe Rousset. Rondeau won first prize at the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition at 21 (he played with “a virtuosity that allows him to dash off lightning appoggiaturas, phrasing that nourishes and refreshes the drama, lively, ardent, captivating and always dynamically charged” according to La Libre Belgique). Rondeau has also been a recipient of the European Union Baroque Orchestra Development Trust, as well as the Francophone Public Radio Young Soloist Prize. In Feburary 2013, at the age of 23, Rondeau released his first album Imagine, a collection of pieces by Bach. Rondeau also performs with the Les Ambassadeurs, under Alexis Kossenko, and with the Baroque ensemble Nevermind. He is a founding member of the group Note Forget – The Project.
