About Jamo Thomas

Bahamanian soul artist who beginning in 1965 through 1976 recorded a series of soul tracks with an occasional funky Caribbean inflection for a variety of American labels including Conlo, Thomas, Chess, Decca, Perception, SSS International, MCA, Sound Stage 7 and Nassau. His billing occasionally was listed as Jamo Thomas & His Party Brothers Orchestra, and his biggest hits were "I Spy For The FBI" , and "Bahama Mama". Some of his earliest 70's Perception and SSS International material including the Stan Watson produced tracks "Shake What You Brought With You" and "Slew Foot Slew" have been reissued under the Philly Groove imprint.
