JIGDRESS is a Japanese indie/alternative rock band from Setagaya, Tokyo formed in 2020. Their music has shoegaze and post-rock influences. They have been on hiatus since February 2026. Members: ** Guitar: イセノ (Iseno) He uses a Fender STRATCASTER and mostly homemade equipment. He also works as a recording engineer, mixer and video editor. ** Bass: ワタナベカズタカ (Kazutaka Watanabe) Responsible for bass and chorus. Joined in April 2023. Uses a 5-string bass. ** Drums: ヤマグチハヤト (Hayato Yamaguchi) He is in charge of drums and chorus. Powerful drum style. Ex members: ** Vocals & Guitar: 山崎大樹 (Daiki Yamazaki; from 2020 to 2026.03.17) Main lyrics and composition. His nickname is "Dai-chan." He was also in charge of flyer and merchandise design. He uses a Fender JAZZMASTER and a Fender MUSTANG. During live performances, he uses effect boards that he made himself. History: The band wasformed at the end of 2020 by Daiki Yamazaki (guitar/vocals), Iseno (guitar/chorus), and Hayato Yamaguchi (drums/chorus) , who was the drummer in Yamazaki's predecessor band "ROKI". They are currently signed to 99's Scape Records. JIGRESS began building momentum in 2021 with the release of their first EP after feedback on March 12, issued both on cassette and digitally. Soon after, they launched their live activities with the pre–CHASER TOUR Tokyo edition in May, followed by their first independent event, “Ikuseiwaku,” on June 28. That year continued at a steady pace: their second EP slow arrived on November 3, alongside a CD release of their debut EP, and they hosted additional self-organized events including “Third Liner” and “Pitcher’s Line (Back to the Mound)” in November and December. In 2022, the band expanded their reach through touring and new releases. In February, they joined Singers High and Juu for the “GOSANKE 2022” tour across Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Their first single, “Goat,” was released digitally on April 2, marking a shift toward standalone releases. Between June 24 and July 25, they held their first self-produced tour, “outsider fanclub,” distributing exclusive recordings at each of the four shows. On September 30, JIGRESS played their first solo live, “ONE SHOT KILL,” at Shimokitazawa Daisy Bar, coinciding with the release of their third EP 5 packed confusion. They closed the year with another independent event, “Sakoku,” in December. Activity continued into 2023 with a series of live events and lineup changes. The year opened with the “attachment” event in January, followed by the “Asylum” tour in February. On April 22, the band hosted “We Were Too Young to Protect,” marking the end of bassist Yoshida’s support tenure. Shortly after, it was announced that Watanabe Kazutaka had joined the band, with the new lineup beginning live performances in May. Their first single under this formation, “Let Down,” was released on July 12, followed by the “Retribution Declaration” tour across Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, culminating in a solo performance in Tokyo. On September 30, they held “Sakoku vol.02,” where they also announced a December cross-party event at Shimokitazawa BASEMENTBAR/THREE, featuring guest appearances including ROKI, the former band of members Yamazaki and Yamaguchi. In December 2025 they announced the one man gig "ONE SHOT KILL" at Shimokitazawa BASEMENT for February 21st 2026. They also announced that after this concert they will go on hiatus. During their hiatus, on March 17th 2026 they announced that vocalist Daiki Yamazaki would immediately leave the band to pursue his own musical expression in other ways.
