About Iskra String Quartet
Iskra means 'a spark' to ignite everything. Iskra is a group of string players who enjoy playing music together regardless of genre. They have travelled extensively across Europe performing at various concert halls and festivals including the Steve Reich 75th Birthday celebrations at the Barbican, London and the Cork Opera House, Ireland. They collaborate with composers such as Johann Johannsson, Dustin O'Halloran, Olafur Arnalds and Alex Baranowski (National Theatre - Hamlet). Whilst other notable performances/recordings include work for artists such as Vampire Weekend, Sufjan Stevens, Duke Special, My Brightest Diamond, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, David's Lyre, Marcus Foster and a remix for Radiohead (XL Recordings).
