About Iotronica

The iotronica Music Project, is Amanda Byrne from Cornwall, UK. Influenced by music from her early childhood by musicians such as Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre and many electronic bands of the 70s and 80s, she brought her first synthesizer at age 17. But after joining a band as a synth player, she accidentally became the main vocalist! After a 20 year hiatus, In 2010, inspired by a dream about Io, in which she dreamed of sounds and colours that had never been heard on Earth, Amanda decided to take up music again and taught herself how to use music software on a computer. She soon began composing and it was in April 2011 that she composed the piece, "Destination Io", a tribute to the dream that woke her muse the year before. Tracks so far include, The Bridge, The Sun Rains on Me, Destination Io, and the follow-up to Destination Io, As We Leave Europa. Two more tracks are currently being recorded continuing the Gallilean moon theme for Ganymede and Calisto.
