About Ines Maidre

Ines Maidre (born December 22, 1958 in Pärnu) is an Estonian organist. She lives in Norway and works as a lecturer at the Grieg Academy in Bergen. Her musical education began with piano studies at the Tallinn Music High School and continued as a piano and organ major at the Estonian Academy of Music under professors Bruno Luk and Hugo Lepnurme (diploma cum laude in both majors). From 1989 to 1991, she continued her studies in France with Daniel Roth (diploma Prix d'Excellence). In addition, she has improved herself in numerous master courses. She has performed many solo concerts at home and abroad, including famous cathedrals such as Westminster Abbey in London and Notre-Dame in Paris. In 1991, Ines Maidre won the first place at the "Concours Musicale d'Ile de Fance at Versailles" (Premier Prix Unanimite). Her repertoire is extensive and varied, featuring music from different eras and styles. Her favorite field is French music. Ines Maidre's interpretations of modern music have been considered exciting, and she has also been the premiere performer of several Estonian organ works. Ines Maidre has also performed the organ parts of many orchestral works (including the organ concertos of Francis Poulenc, Joseph Jongen and Artur Kapp). Ines Maidre has recorded organ music for radio and the labels Forte and Antes. In the 1994 Estonian Television documentary about the Estonian organ composer Peeter Süda, she performed most of the composer's organ works.
