About In My Tree
In My Tree hails from Brabant, a province in the south of the Netherlands. The songs this duo writes can be described as honest and traditional, with the roots in Country, Folk and Blues. In short … good ol’ Americana. In 2011, Bert-Jan Kuijpers and Paul Verschuur, two seemingly different musicians, got together to work on some songs. With Kuijpers singing and writing lyrics and Verschuur putting it to music, a very productive collaboration was born. Going under the name of ‘In My Tree’, it didn’t take long at all for these two to put together their self-titled debut-album. The songs and lyrics on this album vary between the simple and fun loving things in life, to battles of conscience, discouragement, torment and pain. This, in combination with pure, down to earth sounding music gives their album a truly heartfelt, nostalgic and sometimes even a sinister feel. The album is available at www.inmytree.nl and downloadable at inmytree.bandcamp.com. In My Tree performs live shows as a duo, as well as with a band.
