About Imperanon
Imperanon was a melodic death metal band from Finland, active between 1999 and 2007. The band was founded by Jaakko Nyland and Asko Sartanen, and later joined by Aleksi Sihvonen and Eki Nurmikari. In 2002, they recorded their first demo, titled "Until the End". Following this release, Sartanen departed the group and was replaced by Aleksi Virta and Lauri Koskenniemi. A second demo, self-titled "Imperanon", led to the band signing with Nuclear Blast Records. Their debut album, "Stained", was released in 2004. After the album's release, Koskenniemi left the band and was replaced by Teemu Mäntysaari. In 2005, the band recorded a three-song demo that was never publicly released and is generally excluded from official discographies. In 2006, they produced another demo, referred to as "2006 Demo", which was released without cover art. On July 20, 2007, Imperanon announced their disbandment via a statement on MySpace. The breakup was likely influenced by Mäntysaari's commitments to the band Wintersun and Sihvonen's involvement with the Finnish death/thrash band Medicated.
