About IMMORTALS
There are multiple artists named "The Immortals": 1. Belgian electronic duo Praga Khan and Oliver Adams, known for their work in the band Lords of Acid. In 1992 they released the single "Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat)", which was later used in television advertising for "Mortal Monday" on September 13, 1993, coinciding with the home console release of the video game "Mortal Kombat". Following the commercial success of the track, Virgin commissioned them in 1994 to produce a full album based on characters from the game, released as "Mortal Kombat The Album". The album includes songs dedicated to eight fighters from the game as well as two versions of "Techno Syndrome", which later became widely known as the "Mortal Kombat theme". A promotional 12-inch single featuring three tracks from "Sonya (Go Go Go)" was also released. Although the duo did not continue producing further albums under this name, they briefly revived the project in 1997 for remixes of the JX track "Close To Your Heart" and additional remixes of "Techno Syndrome" for the film "Mortal Kombat Annihilation", including "Techno Syndrome (97 Mix)" and a version titled "Theme From Mortal Kombat (Encounter the Ultimate)" on the soundtrack. A cover of the track was also recorded by Utah Saints for the soundtrack of the first "Mortal Kombat" film. 2. Nigerian band that combined traditional African musical elements with funk and rock influences. They are noted for the song "Hot Tears", which was included on the compilation "Nigeria 70: Lagos Jump".
