About I Believe In My Mess
I Believe In My Mess is an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based music collective with a strong focus on dub and messy music in its widest sense. Core members are Frank van Praag and Geert de Groot (both members of Dutch indie powerhouse, Scram C Baby). In recent years Van Praag, under his I Believe In My Mess moniker, recorded dub mixes for, among others, De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, Hallo Venray and Canshaker Pi. March 2019 saw the release of an EP featuring six dub versions of songs by Scram C Baby, a second EP followed in May 2019. A full-length début album of original material, Do Unto Others, came out in 2020, with the sophomore studio LP We Can't Be Wrong following in the fall of 2024 (physical in October, digital in November). "A melting pot of sound, image and language on one hand, and of styles like indie, dub, electronics, garage and hip hop on the other. Add shady atmospheres, changing moods and electronic craziness, to a history on vocals and an overall crossover of beauty and madness, and there you have it: I Believe In My Mess at the controls."
