About Hospitāļu Iela

Hospitāļu Iela, meaning Hospital Street in Latvian, is a pioneering reggae band from Rīga, Latvia, formed in 1997 by the core member, songwriter, singer, and guitarist Edgars Šubrovskis. Their unique sound blends the relaxed rhythms of reggae with introspective and romantic Latvian lyrics, creating a distinctive style that set them apart. They announced their split up in 2010 and played their last concert in 2011. After a long break, the band is expected to reunite for several special concerts in 2025 and 2026. Current members (2025/2026): Edgars Šubrovskis (JUUK) - guitars, vocals; Dina Skreitule - violin, vocals; Anna Andersone - vocals; Kristīne Augstkalne - vocals; Laima Ivule - vocals; Edgars Mākens (Jaunība) - keyboards, mandolin, other instruments; Maija Ušča (Stūrī Zēvele) - bass; Toms Circenis - drums. http://www.hospitaluiela.lv
