About Hogsnort Rupert
Hogsnort Rupert From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hogsnort Rupert' are a New Zealand band. Originally formed in 1969 as Hogsnort Rupert's Original Flagon Band, they shortened their name with their second album in 1970. They are known for their light, humorous brand of music which produced several charting singles and one number one hit (Pretty Girl, 1970). The main band members are Alec Wishart and Dave Luther. Other members over the year have included Ian Terry, Frank Boardman, Billy Such, John Reilly, John Newton, Graham Brown, Neil Worboys, Kevin Findlater, Bernie Reber, Dean Ruscoe and Graeme Luther. Dave Luther was also a member of New Zealand band Dave and the Dynamos, who had a Number 1 hit in 1983 with their song 'Life begins at 40'. The other members were Kevin Findlater (bass) and Bernie Reber (drums). Hogsnort Rupert is still a band today and is certainly one of the longest running bands in New Zealand history as they have been running for almost 40 years. An earlier, unrelated band existed in Guildford, UK between 1963 and 1966.[citation needed] [edit] Discography 1969: All Our Own Work 1970: Have a Hogsnort Rupert Summer 1971: Ways of Making You Laugh 1975: A Portrait of Hogsnort Rupert (best-of album) 1982: It's Hogsnort Rupert 1985: Something Old, Something New (album shared with Bulldogs Allstar Goodtime Band and Dave and the Dynamos) 1999: Hypnotic 2001: The Very Best of Hogsnort Rupert 2006: A Tribute To The Good Times 2010: A Touch of Hoggers (Celebrating 40 Years of Recording with Hogsnort Rupert)
