About Hästpojken

Hästpojken is a pop band from Gothenburg, Sweden that started out as a duo consisting of Martin Elisson (formerly singer of Bad Cash Quartet) and Lars "Poplars" Malmros (formerly drums in Broder Daniel). During the fall of 2007 the band opened for Sahara Hotnights in their Swedish tour. Their first single "Shane MacGowan" became a MySpace/radio hit, and Hästpojken ("The Horse Boy") released their debut album "Caligula" in January 2008. Poplars left the band because of personal reasons in April and Nico Janco (of Whyte Seeds) replaced him. The band is no longer a duo either, due to "live members" (Adam Bolméus, Pontus Tenggren, Joel Alme & Nico Janco) being added to the "real" band, too. In the summer of '08 Hästpojken could be heard and seen playing most Swedish festivals, and the band had a couple of gigs in Norway, adding two new songs to their set list ("Katarina är ett hål" and "Tex-Mex"). The band's second album "Från där jag ropar" was released on December 28th, 2009. The third album, "En magisk tanke", was released in 2013.
