About Gurnemanz

Gurnemanz were a progressive folk band from the Rhineland area. They were founded in 1972. Their music featured lute, flute, sitar, and similar instruments and had a medieval style underpinning it. In 1975 they released their LP “Spielmannskinder” and in 1977 “No rays of noise”. Before the band already had released three reel-to-reel tapes: “Fair Margaret and sweet William” (1972), “Liaze” (1973), and “Sisu” (1974) each of them lasting 45 min. John Cremer who was responsible for the recordings had kept the master tapes and some of the sessions have been released on CD.
