“It’s not too bold a statement to say goodbyemotel are one of the finest indie rock bands currently plying their trade.” Inpress Magazine. goodbyemotel have just finished recording their new EP "Wish Your Way”. It was recorded and produced by Julian Mendelsohn, who has worked with greats such as Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Pet Shop Boys, INXS and Jimmy Page. The recording experience was amazing and produced four new tracks. Recently their music has been featured on TV shows such as GOSSIP GIRL, COVERT AFFAIRS and SUITS. They also have three of their songs included in the new Australian feature film “Summer Coda” goodbyemotel started to take shape after members kept crossing paths in the local Melbourne music scene. Not long after goodbyemotel released their debut EP “Information”. The EP was well received at Australian radio and media. Their second EP “end/play” was recorded in an old church converted into a studio in Melbourne with producer Kalju Tonuma (Crowded House, Evermore) The EP received some amazing reviews such as “If this EP doesn’t conquer the world then there is seriously something wrong” Jeff Jenkins Howzat Their debut album was released in September 2010. Three years in the making, starting out in a beach house on the Victorian great ocean road and finished off at renowned Sing Sing studios in Melbourne. Following the albums release the song “Watching you” won a competition in the US to feature on the Delta Airlines inflight radio program and also featured in the “End child slavery” national TV and MTV campaigns. Storm Thorgerson, the album designer who created album sleeves for Led Zepplin, Muse, Peter Gabriel and most of Pink Floyd’s covers including the classic “Darkside of the moon” who after listening to their music and meeting the band, has agreed to do goodbyemotel’s artwork for their upcoming second album. Being huge Pink Floyd fans, this was a major coup for the guys who are incredibly proud to be working with Storm. goodbyemotel are now touring the new EP “Wish Your Way” and making plans to record their next album later this year. goodbyemotel are also developing two environment projects with big ideas. The “Download for tree “ project and the “Solar Tour” project.
