About Furry Loser

Furry Loser is the solo project of Nova Scotian musician and visual artist Ed St. Clair, aka. Rolffrom. Its music is heavily inspired by classic rock acts such as the Beatles, Beach Boys and Talking Heads, as well as contemporary indie rock artists and bands like Alvvays, Alex G and many fellow musicians from the furry community. The project started taking shape as "bedroom pop" music in late 2016, though its first releases would only surface until 2018 with the release of single "Marco & Marty", which was later featured on Ed's first EP release, a synth-y bedroom-pop album titled "Loser Dance Party." The same day this EP was released, another EP was published to Ed's bandcamp page: "High School Suicide Pact", which is inspired by a more melancholic, classic rock-and-roll sound. Furry Loser's most popular song as of August 2024 is from this EP; a track titled "Suicide Pact" which is an upbeat surf-rock song about being scared of change as a teenager. The track was heavily inspired by band Teen Suicide's album "dc snuff film / waste yrself". Furry Loser remains an active project as of 2024. Its latest releases include the albums "Celebration at St. Matthew's Home" and "Anxiety, Eat World"; both of which differ from Furry Loser's earlier lo-fi style in production quality; however, Furry Loser's catalogue continues to be characterized by, mainly, an indie rock style and lyrics that often make reference to the furry community, for which Furry Loser mainly writes and performs.
