About Funkestra
Austrian born, Stefan Redtenbacher has, over the last 10 years, established himself as the UK’s “groove” bass player of choice for many artists, both live and recorded. He’s worked with artists including Steve Winwood, Sam Brown, Herp Alpert and Danny Gotlieb. His own recordings feature Jazz/Funk legends Fred Wesley and Elliott Randall (Steely Dan) and he’s also established himself as a producer and educator of note. His 5-piece Funkestra, the name of which pretty accurately describes the high energy and style of the music, boasts some of the best players in Europe and have a style that is hard to beat.
