About Francis Davila

In 1998 he started his music career as a big beat producer, forming the duo Binary Thread Project. They played several times at parties of local promoters like ‘’La Fosa Comun" , ’’Casa Comal’’, and ‘’Tripnotica.’’ Then they were invited to very important festivals such as ‘’La Primera Convencion Electronica,’’ the first electronic convention in Guatemala, ‘’Blast out Encounter for Down Pants Productions in June 2000, and ’’Tripiarte’’ in October of 2000. Showing his talent and dedication in musical production Francis became a DJ and received a residency at ’’Lighthouse’’ where he shared decks with british dj ‘’DJ B.’’ Since then he became a strong influence for the electronic music culture in Guatemala. In February of 2001 Francis moved to San Francisco, where he was greatly influenced by the house scene there. Shortly after he returned to Guatemala, was invited to become part of collective ‘’Musica502," which is the biggest promotion company there. Since then he has had residencies at several clubs and shared decks with international DJ’s such as Tim Skinner (Grounded Music), Oliver Klein (Mutteki and Electribe), DJ Three (Hallucination Recordings), and Steve Porter (Fade Records), just to name a few. In 2003 Francis made music for the international film “La Casa de Enfrente” and commercials for Studio C in Hollywood, California. Also he has focused greatly on his electronic music productions this year. His music has been played consistently by Dj’s like Tim Skinner, Martin Accorsi, and Marcelo Castelli.
