About Francesco Galeazzi
Francesco Galeazzi was anItalian violinist, music theorist, and composer; b. Turin, 1758; d. Rome, Jan. 1819. Following his studies in Turin, he settled in Rome as a violin teacher, music director of the Teatro Valle, and composer. His treatise Elementi teorico-pmtici di musica (2 vols., Rome, 1791,1796; annotated Eng. tr. of Vol. 1 by A. Frascarelli, diss., Univ. of Rochester, 1969) is an important exposition on the Classical style.
