About Final Coil
Formed as a solo project by Phil about a hundred years ago, Final Coil only really became a serious proposition in 2008 when a full-time band formed. Unfortunately the spirit of Spinal Tap hung over Final Coil and it took six drummers before we arrived at Tom and promptly chained him to something large and immovable to make sure he would never leave. We now keep him in a shed with a life- time supply of cheeseburgers and Journey CDs and he seems happy enough. With the four-piece line-up established, Final Coil recorded and released the "goodbye to all that" debut album under the auspices of Mrsvee/Burning Shed in June 2011 and are now planning the release of a new EP tentatively entitled 'live with doubt', two tracks from which can be heard on the music player here. Regularly hitting live stages everywhere and anywhere, Final Coil's stated mission is to bring alternative rock back to the masses, one person (and sometimes not even that) at a time. It is a lengthy process.
