About Feylesoflar

“Feylesoflar” is one of the first pioneers of the Hard Rock music genre in Turkey. During those years, they played songs of bands such as Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd, sometimes even translating the lyrics into Turkish. By also composing music to the verses of Yunus Emre, a Turkish poet and mystic, they were further adding a mystical atmosphere to their music throughout those years. The band has been comprised of Atilla Günhan, Arman Akbal, Mustafa Ersin, Jeyan Koray Erpi, Oğuz Bayer, Candan Bastak, Hakkı Soylular and Kudret Kurtcebe. During those years, the band had started giving concerts in cafeterias and cinema salons. Apart from performing with “Feylesoflar”, its members also followed extra jobs, independently from the band. Even though “Feylesoflar” had worked on some studio recordings, those recordings had not reached the band’s desired level, since their financial situation had also not been very good back then. Atilla Günhan, one of the band’s founders, remembers those times as follows: “We performed concerts under very difficult conditions. I remember the time we performed in a sports hall in Kütahya. Only 4 people out of a crowd of 4000 came to congratulate us. The other 3996 booed because we were playing Uriah Heep.”
