About Fendermen

In 1960, the Fendermen, Phil Humphrey and Jim Sundquist, a couple kids from Madison, Wisconsin, rode to the top of the Billboard Charts with their hit "Mule Skinner Blues." They recorded some great music and toured the country, playing anywhere with a stage until parting ways in 1961. People who saw them never forgot the power and excitement generated by just two guys and their guitars. Today, Jim Sundquist, Jim Chuesberg and a revolving group of friends still play 52 weekends a year under the Fendermen moniker, delighting crowds with their effortless recapturing of the original Fendermen spirit, and the sounds of classic country and rock-a-billy.
