About Feeling B

Feeling B was one of the first punk bands in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany). The band was founded in Berlin in 1983 and started out firmly grounded in the underground punk scene. Over time, Feeling B's popularity grew greatly and at the end of the German Democratic Republic, it was one of the most respected and influential Eastern German bands despite their underground status. Feeling B concerts were improvised. Frontman Aljoscha Rompe, a Swiss living in East Berlin, supplied the vocals to the band's restless, enduring punk anthems. His accompanying keyboardist, guitarist, and drummer then universally referred to as "Flake", "Paulchen" and "Doom", have since found fame as keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz, rhythm-guitarist Paul H. Landers and drummer Christoph "Doom" Schneider of Rammstein. Rammstein singer, Till Lindemann, also participated once with Feeling B, for the song, Lied von der unruhevollen Jugend, for which he is credited on the album Hea Hoa Hoa Hea Hea Hoa. Rammstein once played this song live in St. Peterburg in 2001, during the Mutter tour. The group disbanded mid-1990's. On special occasions, the band members would get together for individual concerts at punk festivals, until Rompe died on november 23, in 2000.
