About Europeans

1.Europeans were a New Wave band formed in Bristol, UK in 1977. The line-up was Jonathan Cole (formally of Colortapes on vocals, guitar and synthesizers), Jon Klein (ex-Emergency Exit on lead guitar), Steve Street (ex-Public Enemy Number One on bass guitar) and James Cole (drums/percussion). According to Jon, ‘we were going to be called 'The Noses.' (They should not be confused with the similarly named The Europeans, a British band formed in 1981). 2.One of the former bands of Marillion singer Steve Hogarth. They played new wave music, with Steve on keyboards and sometimes vocals. Lead vocals by bass player Ferg Harper. Predecessor of How We Live, which consisted of Colin Woore and Steve Hogarth. Europeans signed a contract at A&M in 1982. Their last studio album, Recurring Dreams, was released in 1984. In 1985, Steve Hogarth and Colin Woore split to form a band on their own called How We Live. In 1987, they release the album Dry Land on CBS. One year later, Steve Hogarth joins Marillion.
