About Epoch Collapse
Epoch Collapse is a solo project formed by Dariusz Roberte in 2000. *Note: Epoch Collapse and EpochCollapse as found here on Last.fm are the same project/artist. Because the style and influences are so broad, it is at times hard to categorise the music of Epoch Collapse; it is an experimental, electronic, cinematographic, dark ambient, drone, power electronics, industrial ambient, electro-acoustic music, and audio-visual/multi-media project. Epoch Collapse doesn't really sound like anything else out there too much, however, just to give an idea, here are some artists who bear some similarities in sound :- Lustmord; Deathprod; Aderlating; Inade; Yen Pox; Voice of Eye; early Tangerine Dream; Giacinto Scelsi; Roland Kayn; Nurse With Wound; Raison d'être; Nocturnal Emissions; Vladimir Hirsch; Zoviet France; Kluster; SPK; François Bayle; Controlled Bleeding; Epoch Collapse has performed live to silent films using tape collages/electronic sounds. The live mixing and remixing of sounds and samples are performed via an original graphic score. Epoch Collapse has recently completed a long-term music project: original piano compositions/improvisations with electronics, entitled 'Unprepared Piano'; this would end up being a series of 20+ CD's. Over the last few years have also been experimenting with field recordings and voice samples - electro-voice poetry/electro-noise poetry. There are many side-projects too (which bear further influence on the music), including: writing science fiction; research and readings in an array of areas: Science, Astronomy, Cosmology, Futurology, Archaeology, Mythology, Philosophy, Esoterica, Classical and Arcane Literature, Dystopian Fiction, Surrealism, Cyberpunk, Cinema, et cetera.
