About EPSYLON
Brennan Murphey (a.k.a. Epsylon) has been teaching the tools of electronic musicians as a full time professional instructor for over two and half years. He designed and taught the music synthesis program at the ICON Collective in downtown Los Angeles for 6 months before becoming the music production program instructor at Portland’s Spun Academy from Sept. 2006 to Dec. 2007. He is a Berklee College of Music alumni and holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College of Santa Fe. Brennan is also a music producer, performing artist, guitarist, label owner and event organizer. As a producer, he has released three albums and a 12” vinyl release, with composition styles ranging from hip-hop to psytrance. As a performing artist and guitarist, he has performed at several hundred events across New Mexico, Oklahoma, California, Oregon and Washington. He has performed alongside acts such as Sirius Isness, Chromatone, Ghreg on Earth, Mubali, and Rabbit in the Moon. As a label owner and event organizer he runs the record label and electronic music collective known as Metakinetics, which has released two albums and organized countless events in New Mexico, California, and Oregon including the Contact Festival, The Quickening and the Sacred Space monthly psytrance gatherings at Pi-Rem in downtown Portland.
