About Dworzec

Dworzec were an improvising trio/quartet formed in Melbourne in 1997. The members of Dworzec were Louise Conroy on accordion and saxophone, Arek Gulbenkoglu on prepared guitar and tapes, Henry Krips on synthesiser, and Antony Eagle on laptop and percussion. Their work was in a similar vein to New Zealand's Metonymic Records crew - free-floating, unhinged group-think improvisation which revels in a rich heritage, starting with AMM, MEV and their ilk. Their most recent CD, "Wednesday", was released on Metonymic in 2002 (Metonymic 014). Earlier releases included one 7" ("Shore"), one lathe-cut 10" ("Kairow") and their self-titled debut CD (all self-released). Further recordings have not yet seen the light of day. The group was only sporadically active for several years while its members pursued other projects (Arek Gulbenkoglu pursuing solo improvisation, and Henry Krips active with alt-country group Wagons), and disbanded in 2010.
