About Drolls

Early music ensemble from Petrozavodsk (Russia) "Drolls" was established in 1999. The only field of activity of the ensemble is western European music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Today "Drolls" are: Cherevko Dmitry (records, cornamuse, double flute, lyru, bamboo flute, domra, maultrommel, voice) Popov Pavel (raushpfeife, shawm, oboe, recorders, can, voice) Solovyev Igor (voice, mandolin, kantele, saz, ud, gothic harp) Nikitine Alexei (darabukka, djambey, landsknechttrommel, glockenspiel, percussion, voice) Popov Sergey (viela, rebec, hurdy-gurdy, voice) The band has recorded and edited five albums: "Kalenda Maya", 2001; "Carminis Vagantibus", 2003; "Via Sacra", 2004; "Quintus", 2004 "Zara", 2006 (with Belorussian folk ensemble Guda)
