About DISTRACTIONS

There are multiple artists with this name: 1. Distractions are a band from Chicago. Their surf/lounge music evokes the sounds of the early ‘60s; but also possesses the spirit of underground pop rock acts. The effect of Tom Owens's baritone voice reminiscent of a juvenile Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields, starkly contrasted by dark, atmospheric rock with the raw nerve of noir pop that surrounds it with a jarring blow. 2. Distractions was a British power pop/new wave band. It was made up of Adrian Wright, Pip Nicholls, Steve Perrin, and Alec Sidebottom. They released their sole LP "Nobody's Perfect" in 1980. Of their five singles, they are perhaps best known for the retro pop tune "Something for the Weekend". 3. Distractions, from Paris, France, 2017- ; French rap with dark poetical lyrics and electronic samplers. The two first shows of Distractions were called "How to achieve one's burnout" #1 and #2.
