About Diskanto

Post-Punk/New Wave band from Cremona (Italy) Band founded by Marco Turati and Loris Durando in 1985. First formation: Marco Turati voice and guitar, Loris Durando bass, Max Mondello drums and percussions, Mauro Ardenghi guitar and bass. Sound based on good post-punk/wave rythmns with politically oriented texts (expecially on civil and environmental issues). The band was able to play in important italian rock contests (like Arezzo Wave, Gazzuolo Rock Fest and Anagrumba) and to make remarkable concerts in many italian cities, splitting the stage with groups like Litfiba, Underground Life and Ritmo Tribale (between the others). Very good was the musical production: 4 dame-tapes and 2 productions with EMI records (one of the 2 was the single 'Trafficanti', a good affermation of the band with 10.000 sold copies, not so bad for an italian wave band). The band ends the first part of the career in 1990. Recently the Diskanto are back for some new live exibitions and with a new work: ‘Cuorepistone’, a 11 tracks cd + DVD with some clips and art videos.
