About Demi Lovato
Demetria Devonne Lovato, known professionally as Demi Lovato, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. After appearing on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), Lovato rose to prominence for playing Mitchie Torres in the musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). The former film's soundtrack contained "This Is Me," Lovato's debut single and duet with Joe Jonas, which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. After signing with Hollywood Records, Lovato released her pop-rock debut album, Don't Forget (2008). Throughout the 2010s, she released several successful albums, including Unbroken (2011), Demi (2013), and Tell Me You Love Me (2017), which featured the hit "Sorry Not Sorry." Following a brief exploration of rock with HOLY FVCK (2022) and REVAMPED (2023), Lovato returned to dance-pop in late 2025. In October 2025, she released her ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, under Island Records. The album, which reached the top ten of the Billboard 200, spawned the singles "Fast," "Here All Night," and "Kiss." To support the record, Lovato is set to embark on the "It’s Not That Deep Tour" across North America, beginning in April 2026. On television, Lovato starred in Sonny with a Chance, served as a judge on The X Factor USA, and appeared in Glee. In 2024, she made her directorial debut with the documentary Child Star, which premiered on Hulu and explored the complexities of growing up in the spotlight alongside other former child actors like Drew Barrymore and Kenan Thompson. In March 2026, Lovato made her return to dramatic acting in the film Tow, starring alongside Rose Byrne and Octavia Spencer. An activist for several social causes, Lovato's struggles with mental health and substance abuse have received significant media attention, documented in Simply Complicated (2017) and Dancing with the Devil (2021). In 2021, Lovato came out as non-binary, though she later shared that she also uses she/her pronouns as her gender journey continues to evolve. In May 2025, Lovato married musician Jordan "Jutes" Lutes in a private ceremony in California, having been together since 2022.
