David Brewis is best known for being one of the creative forces behind Field Music, the prolific and inventive band he leads with his brother Peter out of their studio in Sunderland, United Kingdom - under which they have released 9 'proper' albums and countless other 'extracurricular' projects. Though he has a number of solo releases under the moniker School of Language, 2023's The Soft Struggles is his first release under his own name, featuring elements of strings, brass horns, and guest vocalists combining together with its overall acoustic arrangement and sound.
