About Daredevils

Created by Brett "Mr. Brett" Gurewitz after his departure from Bad Religion in 1994. In 1996 they released their first, and only single containing the songs "Hate You", written for and about Jay Bentley with whom he had a business-related argument that was also Brett's excuse for leaving the band, and "Rules, Hearts". A Video was also shot for "Hate You" which was featured on the 1996 Epitaph video compilation "Feel lucky, punk?" that was given away to buyers of newly released Epitaph albums. After the release of Hate You, Brett wrote some additional material and said that the first album would be out in 1998, with a sound much more hardcore than the single, similar to the old(er) Bad Religion albums. "This is my creative outlet. It's not my business. It's something I do to keep my sanity. I'm not a rock star. I'm a record company owner" said Brett. However, due to Bretts drug problems the whole project came to a halt and was finally abandoned alltogether when Brett rejoined Bad Religion in 2001. In 2002 Brett was asked about the motivation for Hate You, to which he replied "That was uncool of me. I was being bitter." Lineup; * Brett Gurewitz - guitar, vocals (Bad Religion) * Gore Verbinski - guitar (Little Kings) * Dean Opseth - bass (Medicine) * Josh Freese - drums (A Perfect Circle, Guns N' Roses, The Offspring, The Vandals, Nine Inch Nails) Sources; * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daredevils_%28band%29 * http://www.thebrpage.net/index.htm?http&&&www.thebrpage.net/answer.asp?heading=Daredevils,%20the&letter=d
