About Criss Chords
When it comes to music, no one can compare to the musical entity such as Criss Chords. He brings the “freshness” back to hip hop with his lyrics, passion for music, his bizarre imagination yet geekish attitude, and his sense of style and fashion. Criss has always had an ear for music, even at a VERY young age. Born on December 10, 1988 (Bryant Christian Senghor) was raised in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Criss Chords grew up in a very musical household. His mother along with his aunt’s and uncle’s were very musically inclined. His grandmother played music in her household on a daily basis. At the age of 5 Criss had already begun rapping and citing lyrics to hot artists of that time, which includes: A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince Onyx, Slick Rick, KRS-One, Nas, and many others. As a kid Criss was very energetic. He was your “party starter”, always in the middle of the crowd dancing and bustin’ moves! He rapped at family functions along with his little brother Alex. As Criss became older, he began an interest for performance music. Criss picked up the Trumpet and the Piano around the age of 12, in addition to becoming more artistic as well. As time passed, Criss’s aunt Kimberly Y. Hunter began having a serious musical influence in him. He later learned that his cousin Michael Anderson (Flat) [now co-founder of the up-coming music label “Nuthin But Bangaz Productions] had experience of producing music and making beats. So he decided to start making beats of his own. In high school, Criss became the drum major of the Laurel High School Marching Band in the 2005/06 year. He also participated in the Drum Line, playing the base and the snare drum. At that time he began to pick up the guitar as well, so as u can see Criss is very music oriented. From playing by ear to sight reading sheet music. Criss has been making beats and pursuing his career in music and Graphic Design ever since. He’s recently met 3 other aspiring artists such as Criss who has the same drive and great potential to become the next major hip hop artist. They’ve combined forces to form a hip hop group named “Project: Trinity”, which consist hip hop artist of the same geekish calibur. These artist are: LyAs (Kevin "McCain" McCoy) Obi-1 (Obina Derek "Palin" Nwosu) and a young prodigy of Criss, Grandemarshall (Xavier "Kidd Prodda" Marshall-Booker) With the assistance of Kajmir Royale, an extremely famous Denver, Colorado producer on www.soundclick.com who has dropped hits for major artists such as De La Soul, Hell Rell, etc...
