About Craig Cummings

Craig Cummings (born September 10, 1954 in Baltimore) is an American alt-country, rock, and folk singer-songwriter. A popular and well-regarded live performer, Craig is known for his prolific song writing and powerful voice. Craig's career has been a musical road trip that began with folk music performances in his teens, accelerated to writing country-rock anthems, detoured to blue-eyed soul, and finally took a dirt road home in 2007, when he set out to create his own niche in country music. He refers to his music as "east coast Americana." He seamlessly blends influences from country, rock, soul, R&B, and folk music into an all-American hybrid. His 2009 CD release, Road Trips and Relationships, features songs with clever lyrics supported by a wash of acoustic, electric, and pedal steel guitars. Craig's musical influences include country music greats such as Gram Parsons, Lucinda WIlliams, and George Jones, contemporary rock artists with R&B influences such as Elvis Costello and Graham Parker, and many of the great soul singers from the Motown and Stax/Volt labels.
