About The Burning Angels
Formed in 2007 by front man and singer/songwriter, Mark Cunningham, The Burning Angels were born out of the Athens, GA Americana music scene. The music of the band is told through a southern gothic weaving of acoustic and electric instruments. In 2009, The Burning Angels entered acclaimed producer John Keane's studio (R.E.M., Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic) in Athens for their debut self-titled album. What followed was 2 more albums (Love & 20 Pesos, Beautiful Scars) produced by the band with help from Water Valley, MS engineer Bronson Tew (Dialback Sound). Cunningham was born and raised in the town of Athens, GA and is currently touring behind his solo efforts, "Searching for the Smaller Gods" and "The Dimestore Redemption". Core member, Andrew Vickery, also tours with Cunningham as The Burning Angels.
