Costa Rican Roots, Los Angeles Based High Energy Blues-Funk-Rock Guitarist Chuck has been rockin’ audiences around the world for 40+ years. He has teamed up with some of the most notable sidemen in the country. He has shared the stage with many musicians that seem to be household names now: Johnny Winter, Robin Ford, Taj Mahal, Ambrosia, Starship, Bill Champlin to name a few. Besides having tons of success with his own band, he has played with the Grammy-winning Emotions and was the lead guitarist on a Grammy Nominated album in the folk category. His playing and recording credits include Tim Weisberg, Deana Bogart, Little Richard, David Benoit, and the late 70s, a very popular band called the Twisters. His success as a guitar player has allowed him to travel nationally and internationally. Some of the notable concerts being at the Beacon Theatre in New York, Red Rocks in Denver, the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia, and multiple performances for the US military USO/MWR tours. Whether he is playing locally or abroad you can be sure that Chuck Alvarez always delivers. 30 years of performing & recording rock, blues, r&b and jazz. In the past two years Chuck has performed with Eric Marienthal, Gerald Albright, Smashmouth, and Tim Weisberg. He has also written with Michael McDonald & appeared on TV with Little Richard. The CD features a world class band with Vince Denham (Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs) on sax. Engineered by Dave Swanson (Blues Traveler, Black Crows). 1996 Pines To Palms, an acoustic light jazz CD on which Alvarez teams up with jazz cellist Brian Asher. 1993 The Life I Live , Chucks debut CD, produced by Vernon Porter (Kenny Loggins, Dan Fogleberg), engineered by Walter New (Robin Ford, Eric Johnson) and features world renown keyboardist Mike Finnigan. Coverage The Life I Live & Sacred Grounds received regional air play throughout the Western US. with sales distribution from Impact Records and points of sale in Zia Records, Hastings Entertainment Centers, Tower Records and dozens of independent record stores. Regional tours of clubs, festivals and special events supported album sales in excess of 6000 CDs and tapes. Other Activity Alvarez has composed music for nine musicals for both national & international audiences, in the past 2 years he has produced 4 CDs and his music has appeared in film, television, & commercials. Currently he is recording his fourth record. Performance From the Universal Amphitheater, Irvine Meadows, and the Greek Theater to Longs Beach, NJ and The Merriweather Post Pavilion.
