About Chris Fry
Inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Julian Bream, Chris spent his early teens learningto play the guitar, which led him to go on and study classically, gaining a Diploma of Licentiate fromthe London College of Music. Upon mastering his instrument, Chris defined his artistry collaborating upon a variety of works, lending his hand to performing, composing, scoring and arranging and tutoring. To date Chris is best known for touring as part of progressive rock band Magenta, who have collectively released several albums & live DVDs and have toured throughout Europe and America, including a live orchestrated performance at Peter Gabriel’s Real-world studios, based only a short way from Chris’ hometown in South Wales-UK. Alongside this project he also performs as part of a guitar duo, playing Spanish, Latin American and Gypsy Jazz and has compiled an extensive music catalogue that incorporates both original and cover compositions. Another interesting thing about this artist is that he is also the chairman of Islwyn Acoustic Guitar Club, set up in South Wales by music lover Rob Southall, to give music lovers & players an outlet to share their passions. With an ever-growing list of credentials Chris has inspired a loyal fan-base, who in 2008 voted him ‘Best Guitarist’ at the ‘Classic Rock Society Awards’, which was presented to him by Steve Hackett best known for his role as lead guitarist of the band Genesis. Throughout 2012 Chris has been working with up and coming independent music label MLEMUSIC.CO.UK RECORDS, writing, recording and producing his debut album entitled Composed, which is set for release on 31.03.12 via this official page, ITUNES & Spotify.
