Chilli Jesson has embarked on an exciting solo career, showcasing a new, more refined musical direction following his time as the energetic frontman of Palma Violets. After the band split in 2016, Jesson initially formed Crewel Intentions, a post-punk-inspired project that allowed him to experiment with a darker, more poetic sound. However, in 2023, he officially launched his solo career, stepping into the spotlight under his name. His solo work departs from the raw garage rock of Palma Violets, embracing a more sophisticated mix of indie rock, post-punk, and new-wave influences. Jesson’s debut solo singles, such as “Love Is A Serious Mental Illness” and “Gucci Want The Suit Back”, showcase his knack for storytelling, blending introspective lyricism with infectious melodies. His music combines 80s new wave, sharp lyricism, and dynamic instrumentation, reflecting his evolution as a songwriter and performer.
