About Centurions

The Centurions were a surf rock band from Newport Beach, California, active in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In recent times, they are best known for the recording "Bullwinkle Part II", a dark and saxy surf tune from the eponymous album featured in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction". Less well known is the use of "Intoxica," a twangy and upbeat surf instrumental, in John Waters' 1972 film, "Pink Flamingos". The above photo is NOT the Newport beach Centurions, but of a Canadian Gospel Rock band also called "The Centurions" from the 60s and 70s
