About Careless Hands

Careless Hands was a group formed in Liverpool back in the ‘70s. Both Brian Keaney and Jim Halson were songwriters and guitarists, who met in college and would gather together in the evenings to experiment with loops and drum machines. Their lone 7” was inspired by the story of Aladdin, transforming their world and getting lost in a magical realm. The title song, Looking For A Secret, is a durutti-esque psych pop gem, and the b-side, New Lamps For Old, shares their dubby influences from nights they would attend discos and the DJs played Trinidadian music all night long.
