About Capriola Di Gioia

Inspired by their mutual passion for the repertoire from the baroque era, Amaryllis Dieltiens (soprano) and Bart Naessens (organ/harpsichord) founded the ensemble Capriola Di Gioia in 2007. The musicians enjoy the challenge of sharing this often very dramatic and moving music with their audience. With carefully considered selections from the extensive repertoire for soprano and basso continuo, Capriola Di Gioia aims to rediscover the purity of the compositions while striving for a compassionate and honest interpretation of the text, both vocally as well as instrumentally. The result is a theatrical performance in which the audience truly experiences the feelings expressed in the music. The ensemble has specialized in the rarely performed repertoire for soprano and basso continuo. Capriola Di Gioia has appeared in Belgian and European venues such as the Flanders Festival, the Concertserie Beek, Bozar, and The Holland Early Music Festival.
