About CLUB MAKUMBA
Club Makumba was born from the union between Tó Trips (guitar), João Doce (drums), Gonçalo Prazeres (saxophone) and Gonçalo Leonardo (bass and double bass), for a free, spontaneous, experimental and tribalistic musical exercise. Opening the window for a journey through the sounds of the Mediterranean and imagined Africa, Club Makumba's music is a flag of resistance hurried along the Mediterranean coasts, free from any prejudice or geographic or stylistic borders. A strait of influences in a fusion of rock cartographies, guitars from the southern coasts, hot rhythms from North Africa, swept by spirits that roam in the air and in the dunes of jazz, old melodies and tunings, which reach us in storms of electric dust . On stage, they live off a glorious and contagious energy, capable of exorcising all problems and ghosts.
