About CHAVE
A Chave was a rock band formed in the city of Curitiba, the capital of the Brazilian state of Paraná. A forerunner of Paraná's rock scene, its lineup included Ivo Rodrigues (vocals), Paulo Teixeira (guitar and vocals), Carlão Gaertner (bass), and Orlando Azevedo (drums). Much of the band's music was co-written with the poet Paulo Leminski. Founded in 1969 under the influence of renowned bands such as the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, and Led Zeppelin, and with a 'Classic Rock' sound, the band performed alongside famous groups and singers, including Secos e Molhados, Rita Lee & Tutti Frutti, Mutantes, O Terço, Made In Brazil, Casa das Máquinas, Joelho de Porco, Som Nosso de Cada Dia, and Bixo da Seda. They also opened for the American group Bill Haley & His Comets during their 1975 concert in Curitiba. In 1977, they released a single featuring their hits 'Buraco No Coração' and 'Me Provoque Pra Ver' (both songs co-written with Leminski) under the GTA record label. The band disbanded in May 1979. Shortly after, lead singer Ivo Rodrigues joined Blindagem, another Paraná rock band that maintained a close collaboration with Paulo Leminski.
