About Bojtorjan
The Hungarian Boytorian(means Burdock) has been the first Country and Eastern Band. We play “new country” music but with a pinch of east-European bouquet. In our songs we use all the country and bluegrass instruments. We’ve been the first band behind the “iron curtain” playing the so-called “redgrass” in the United States. During our career we’ve produced more than 20 LP-s and CD-s. Nine of them became gold record, and three became platinum. Until now we’ve plaved in 17 countries. Our major appearance have been: - 13th International Fanfair Riverfront stage, Nashville, Tennessee - David Letterman Show, in his First International Late Night Show - Newollah International Festival, Independence, Kansas - Jimmie Rogers Memorial Festival, Meridian, Mississippi; - Silc Cut, International Country Festival, Wembley, London, U.K. - West International Country Festival, Frankfurt, Germany We also appeared on the same shows among many famous country singers of the recent past, like: Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Carl Perkins, Marty Robbins. as well as among recent country stars, Jerry Lee Lewis, Don Williams Emmilou Harris, George Hamilton IV, Lloyd Green, Charley Pride, Chrystal Gayle, Doc Watson, Wanda Jackson, Donovan, etc. We've received whit recognition in the U.S.: - Kansas State Honorary Citizenship - Pearl, Mississippi Honorary Citizenship - We are Rankin and Madison county deputy sheriffs. We got supported in the U.S. by Mr. Jim Halsey, Mr. Herb Gart, Mr. George Sandifer, and Mr. Lou Wilson, as well Mr. Mervyn Conn, from U.K.
