About Roberto Blanco

Roberto Blanco is a legendary German-Cuban Schlager star and entertainer, born on June 7, 1937, in Tunis as the son of Cuban artists. He grew up internationally in Beirut and Madrid, where he initially began studying medicine before moving to Germany in 1954 to launch his career in show business. His major breakthrough came in 1969 when he won the German Schlager Festival with the title "Heute so, morgen so". However, he achieved worldwide fame in 1972 with his cheerful anthem "Ein bißchen Spaß muß sein" (A Little Bit of Fun is a Must), which remains his trademark song to this day. In addition to his music career, Blanco excelled as an actor in films such as The Star of Africa and hosted numerous television shows of his own. A particular highlight was his 1987 performance in the world-famous Tropicana revue in Havana, a tribute to his Cuban roots. In his private life, the multilingual artist—who speaks seven languages fluently—lives with his second wife, Luzandra Strassburg, in Grünwald near Munich. Despite his age, he remains a popular guest on major variety shows and is considered the personification of good humor on German television.
