Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Big Atlantic, an emerging up and coming progressive/alternative/modern rock act is leaving no stone unturned on route to the top. Formed in 2008, the group has experienced some ups and downs, including a few personnel changes, but has now settled into the groove and is a solid undeniable four piece original rock band ready to take the music community by storm. The Pennsylvania rock act has various musical influences such as Incubus and Soundgarden. Although through years of experience and creative hard work, Big Atlantic has formulated a very unique sound of their own. If they were to be placed in any particular Sounds Like category it would surely have to be the likes of icon acts such as Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Audioslave, and Rush. Four rock steady musicians round out the quartet that is Big Atlantic. With Lee Caruso's powerful red hot lead vocals and searing guitar riffs, Jeff Brinkhus's syncopated bass groves, Tom Gascon's dynamic drum beats and Jim Zamerski's mesmerizing keys and guitar; Big Atlantic proves to be a formidable force to recon with. The band boasts an innovative and creative writing style rarely heard in today s rock music. States Caruso, Half of the time our song writing comes from improvisation that we come up with as a band and the other half is born from all of us collaborating or individually writing something and bringing it to rehearsal. From there, we put all the elements together and create the song . An exciting live performance is probably one of the foremost trademarks of this high energy original rock band. Their contagious spirit and obvious on-stage motivation is what sets them apart from all others. Although Big Atlantic is yet to share the stage with any high profile national acts, they are on their way, and are in the process of setting up a regional and national touring schedule. When asked what emotions he wants his audience and fans to feel after a Big Atlantic performance, Caruso replies, We want our fans to feel full of hope, passion, energy, and motivation, giving them the confidence to take on the challenges they may face while chasing the dreams they long for . The band has recently completed their long awaited debut self-titled album produced by Big Atlantic and Rob Freeman. The record was recorded at multiple studios; JKG studios in Pittsburgh and the Pilot Studio in Boonton New Jersey. The mastering took place at Turtle Tone Studios in New York City. The band worked long and hard on this full length album and is highly enthusiastic about the upcoming release, earmarked for some time in June of 2012.
