Kayah & Bregović is a 1999 collaboration, of Katarzyna Szczot (b. 5 Nov 1967, in Warsaw, Poland - better known as Kayah) & Goran Bregović (b. Горан Бреговић, 22 Mar 1950, in Serbia). Kayah is one of the most successful female Polish singer-songwriters, who has released several albums & won numerous awards. While Bregović is a Serbian musician & one of the Balkans' most internationally known modern composers (currently residing in Belgrade, Serbia - where he came after civil war in ex-Yugoslavia started). In '99, Kayah & Goran Bergović recorded one of the most popular Polish albums ever, entitled Kayah & Bregović: it is a blend of old Bijelo Dugme songs & modern rhythms. Most of the music was composed by Bregović for Bijelo Dugme (which he had been a part of) & film soundtracks, he had worked on. The lyrics are both translations of the original text & inspired.
