About Bettina Schelker

Bettina Schelker (1972) is a Swish prof boxer, singer and songwriter. Schelker is a former member of the Swiss band Polschtergruppe, with whom she scored an national hit with the album "Rose". After graduating as a teacher at primary school, she'd chosen to follow her dream and opted for becoming a musical actress. She played the leading role in the Swiss version of Space Dream. The Swiss group Polschtergruppe (in which she was the singer) split up in 1998. She founded her own record label and released her solo debut "Durst" (Thirst), followed by "Willkommen" (2000) and "Klischee" (2002). On Klischee, Bettina sings both in English, Hochdeutsch and Swiss German. Throughout the years Schelker supported several groups and artist, i.e. Bob Geldoff, Candy Dulfer, Toto, Ru Paul Barclay James Harvest and Ronan Keating. By 2004, Leeds folk group Chumbawamba invites Schelker to tour with them throughout Europe. This leads to a friendship between her and the members of the band and her most recent co-produced album "The honeymoon is over" (2008).
