About BERNARD SUMNER
Bernard Sumner (born 4 January 1956), also known as Bernard Dickin, Bernard Dicken and Bernard Albrecht is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, keyboard player and producer. He is best known as a founding member of the bands Joy Division, New Order, Electronic (with Johnny Marr) and Bad Lieutenant. He currently fronts the third iteration of New Order. "Bernard Sumner" was also the alias of the Demoscene musician Phil Bak who wrote hundreds of songs between 1990 and 1997, almost certainly choosing his handle after the eponymous subject of this article.
